It might not be easy to figure out how much CBD will be OK for your body.

Cannabinoids that are present in CBD can have different affections, and experiences can vary.
The dose will depend on your body weight, age, chemistry, and other important factors. Although CBD doesn’t make you “high,” it will help with anxiety, sleeping difficulties, epilepsy, soothe pain and inflammation, etc.
How safe is CBD?
CBD is proven to be safe even in high doses. Not only that but there’s an almost 0% chance of experiencing side effects — but if they come, here are the seven most common CBD side effects:
- Tiredness
- Dry Mouth
- Dizziness
- Diarrhea
- Nausea
- Low blood pressure
- Changes in Appetite & Weight
Tiredness and dry mouth are the most common. But again, side effects when dosing CBD are super rare.
Here’s who CBD ISN’T for:
- People who are taking other medications. The medicines you’re taking might interact with CBD and cause side effects. Always talk to your doctor first before taking CBD.
- Pregnant/Breastfeeding women. There is no study yet on whether CBD is safe to take for this group.
- People who do not meet the legal age.
Is it possible to overdose?
The answer is no.
Your body starts to tolerate CBD more over time. Even high doses of 1,500 mg per day won’t be harmful.
A study by WHO declared that “CBD exhibits no effects indicative of any abuse or independence potential.”
Even if CBD is safe to use, I still recommend finding the proper dosage and the right product for your use.
Find the right amount.
The right dose will depend on your body weight, any other health conditions you have, and the medication you take. It will also depend on your level of tolerance for CBD and body chemistry.
The ideal dose is the one that provides you with all the benefits without any side effects.
A rule of thumb is to take 1–5mg per 10 pounds of body weight. Try taking the lowest amount possible and slowly increasing your dosage until you reach your desired effects. Wait at least 30 minutes before taking more to see how your body reacts to it.
How long does it take to feel the effects?
How long you will feel the effects will depend on which dosage method you choose.
CBD taken sublingually bypasses your digestive system and gets into your bloodstream directly under the tongue. Usually, it takes 5 to 20 minutes to feel the effects.
If you’re inhaling, the effects will last only a few hours. However, you’ll start to feel them just after a few minutes.
Lotions or balms are best if you want to treat specific areas of your body. You can apply the oil directly to relieve pain or inflammation. You’ll feel the effects in a few minutes, and it can last for several hours.
If you’re taking CBD products orally, the effects will be there for a long time but you will also have to wait around 30–90 minutes to feel anything.
Sublingual and inhalation let the CBD enter your bloodstream directly, and that will allow your body to absorb a higher amount of CBD. Applying this medication to your skin will only relieve the pain, and CBD products ingested orally will lose a lot of CBD just because they have to get through your digestive system.
